The Church Street Brewing Company Wins Three Medals for their German inspired Ales and Lagers at Alltech Commonwealth Cup.
Itasca, IL – The Church Street Brewing Company won one silver medal and two bronze medals at Alltech Commonwealth Cup in Lexington, Kentucky May 16, 2015. The competition was held at the Lexington Convention Center for the end of Lexington Craft Beer Week.
The three beers recognized for these awards were Church Street’s Fire India Pale Ale, Hauch von Himmel Hefeweizen, and Devil’s Advocate Belgian Golden Strong Ale. Many beers competed in this international beer festival and only a handful walked away with medals.
Church Street’s Fire India Pale Ale was awarded a silver medal. This beer is brewer TJ Bachorz’ recipe and features Zythos and New Zealand Motueka hops with a touch of Rye for sweetness.
The Hauch von Himmel Hefeweizen won bronze. This ale is a classic Bavarian style hefeweizen and features flavors and aromas of banana and clove. It is Church Street’s summer seasonal.
The Devil’s Advocate Belgian Golden Strong was also awarded a bronze medal. This beer is classic Belgian; spicy, sweet, and dangerously drinkable.
