Schaumburg, IL (September 18, 2017) – The Village of Schaumburg is pleased to announce it has ranked in the Top 10 of MONEY Magazine’s annual “Best Places to Live” list. The village is ranked No. 9 out of 100 cities across the U.S. in offering a healthy economy, affordable homes, and a high quality of life.
“It’s an honor to be nominated and recognized by MONEY Magazine out of hundreds of communities across the country,” said Village President Al Larson. “Inclusion on this prestigious annual list validates what we already know – Schaumburg is a great place to live, work, do business, and raise a family. We’re proud to be in the Top 10, and it truly is a community effort to maintain the high quality of life our residents and businesses expect.”
The Village of Schaumburg was the only Illinois community ranked in the top 25. The magazine mentioned Schaumburg’s firm place as an economic and manufacturing powerhouse in the Chicagoland area as one of its top features.
In addition, Schaumburg offers a variety of other amenities for residents and visitors including the Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts, Trickster Art Gallery, Legoland Discovery Center, Woodfield Mall, Schaumburg Township District Library, and newly opened Bison’s Bluff Nature Playground as other reasons contributing to Schaumburg’s success. The MONEY Magazine Best Places to Live in America is an annual ranking of towns and cities where affordability meets quality of life. For this year’s list, MONEY chose to look at places with a population between 10,000 and 100,000 and evaluated 2,400 places on eight categories: cost of living, economy, education, housing, crime, convenience, cultural and recreational amenities, and an overall sense of pleasantness.
