Schaumburg, IL – (August 16, 2016) The Schaumburg Prairie Center for the Arts welcomes the Aaron Neville Duo on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.
With a career that’s spanned over five decades, scoring four Platinum records and four Grammy Awards in a variety of categories, Aaron Neville’s vast repertoire can be seen as a microcosm of American music over the past 50 years. Accompanied only on keyboards by the remarkable Michael Goods, this show is an intimate and spontaneous story of Neville’s life and the music that guided it.
“Aaron Neville has a voice made to age gracefully,” said Rachel Horn of NPR Music. “The man sings like an angel. It’s that blend of unforced sweetness, honesty and melodic sensibility that still makes his music so believable after a career spanning more than five decades.”
American Songwriter.com said: “There are few vocalists as distinctive as New Orleans’ Aaron Neville.” The review goes on to say that Neville’s new release, Apache may be his most personal work to date, and that “his approach, even this late in life, hasn’t lost an ounce of its shimmering luster… the impressive Apache ranks with the finest in Neville’s storied career.”
Tickets for the Aaron Neville Duo are $65 ($63 for seniors and students) and can be ordered online at www.prairiecenter.org or by calling 847-895-3600. The Prairie Center is located at 201 Schaumburg Ct., Schaumburg, IL.
